Beat Maps

Below is a section describing the beat which can be broken down into 3 sections. The lower and upper beats plus the tidal section.  All three beats have fishing all with there own character and benefits.

Lower Section

The lower section offers easy access at the bottom of the beat and here the river is at its widest. It has two small tributary, above Holme beck the river is smaller and more intimate in nature. There are a variety of pools with long glides, a longer slower pool and some small deeper pots all sections hold trout.

Upper Section

Upper Beat New.jpg

The upper section is an intimate section and towards the top of the beat splits into Stainton beck and Peasy beck, which are both worth a cast. This is a very scenic area overlooking farleton knott. Weed thins out in sections further up the river making for easier fishing. It also has great access and is suitable for all.

Tidal Section

The lower tidal section is rarely fished but it's known that there are mullet, trout and seatrout in this section of the river for those willing to explore.
